LEADERSHIP AND DIRECTORS:
 
Steven Lee Berman and Anne Deane Berman combine over 50 years of engineering, science, technology, artistic, academic, legal and business experience in supporting the DIGIVATIONS INSTITUTE. Steve and Anne also have more then 30 years of collective teaching and research experience at the K-12 and university levels. They are former faculty at UCLA, UCSB, and ISU in the US, as well as, UBC and GNWC, in BC, Canada, among others. Anne and Steve are LEGO® Education Academy trained Teacher Trainers.
 
Steve originally created DIGIVATIONS to sustain Anne’s and his work in developing and directing a University of California-systemwide industry/university/state matching grants research program which generated a net technology commercialization impact of $300 million in the areas of alternative energy, distributed computing, precision agriculture, security, space exploration, 21st Century medicine, intelligent transportation systems and robotics, among others.
 
 
Steven holds a BS, magna cum laude, in Materials/Ceramic Science Engineering (with an emphasis in Computation) from Rutgers College of Engineering and a Juris Doctorate degree from Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (emphasis in intellectual property). Steve has applied his background to develop new models for fostering next generation enterprises both in the non-profit and commercial sectors -/www.sociallyinnovativegames.com/corporatebackground.html.
 
 
Anne holds a BM from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and a MA/PhD fromthe University of California, Santa Barbara in music composition with an emphasis on music technology.   Anne is an internationally performed composer whose music and works have been performedin more than 75 venues in over a dozen countries (Carnegie Hall, Goteborg Museum of Art: Sweden - see annedeaneberman.com).
 
 
Steve and Anne have collaborated on creating, producing and performing on a global scale, experiential interactive installations which blend art and technology to support thematic STEM +ARTS learning and teaching.  Steve along with the support of Anne has also enjoyed founding the Transformative Media Consortium, which bridges the many verticals of media (social media, games, television and theatrical) and technology platforms, and the DIGIVATIONS INSTITUTE. Steve has also created collaborations among provinces and states, notably the California-BC, Canada Collaborative that serves as the foundation for the Canada-California Strategic Innovation Partnership.
